A Muse/Amusement/A Museum is a performative installation that explores the relationship
between the human body and space, form, movement, objects, and thought—creating a
performative environment that cultivates excitement and fantasy by shifting between regularity
and chance through the notion of play.

a rolling composition addresses the intimidation of interacting with a sound making instrument through the interface of a toy.


There is a barrier to approaching a musical or sound making instrument as they often come with a structured notation system and an appropriate way of playing it. The pinball machines uses the act of play to persuade participants into working with the instrument, creating an ensemble of unknowing musicians contributing to a soundscape of incidental sounds.

Call to Hold&#38;nbsp;is inspired by the gestural movements of a theremin.
A feedback loop is created by a microphone hovering over a speaker. As the sound of the feedback grows exponentially, the user controls the volume and pitch of it through the gestures of both hands.&#38;nbsp;
The rise, fall and rotation of the hands controls the EQ of the feedback, shaping the sounds while balancing to keep it present.&#38;nbsp;

2019
whether weather is a collection of weather apparatus conceived based on regional weather lore and myths from the united kingdom. The project references Tristan Gooley’s The Walker’s Guide to Outdoor Clues &#38;amp; Signs, where he provides scientific logic behind some of the myths.&#38;nbsp;
Inspired by the tension between relying on scientific weather instruments and our gut intuition of the weather, the artist conceives a set of fictional weather contraptions that are informed both by science and myths. The contraptions are accompanied by it’s conceptual sketches and documentation from field tests in the Scottish landscapes.&#38;nbsp;
The installation is presented as a collection of sculptures and a video of the sculptures on location.

Role - Technical &#38;amp; Conceptual design&#38;nbsp;

The Curious Sky is a multi-sensory arts space inspired by elements of the weather. The playspace included interactive and tactile elements for the children to engage with. Some of the elements featured here thunder tunnel where a thunder drum is connected to LED lightning streaks on the ceiling that light up when the drum is moving. 
A Molecular Wall in a form of a large marble run demonstrating the rain cycles and the various states that water exist in.&#38;nbsp;
A rainbow cube with alternating light combinations that casts various coloured shadows.&#38;nbsp;

Sebastian Wong, Mark Lim )2018&#38;nbsp;As part of a collaborative model curated by Pixie Tan, To The Power Of featured 5 multidisciplinary artists and designers working together to present an interactive installation for the Koh Clan for Street of Clans Festival.&#38;nbsp;
Tasked to translate the clan value of unity, a crucial story of the Koh Clan, we used the characteristics of a Rube Goldberg machine that required multiple participants to work together to activate the piece.&#38;nbsp;It invites visitors to work participate by using balls to complete tiny quests that activate audio and kinetic elements. To see the installation in its full glory, visitors have to work together to activate its various elements. Teamwork is the name of the game here — only when all three balls are in place will the record player start the track and let good times roll.

	Digital Fabrication

A semester experimenting with digital fabrication techniques and concepts in Columbia College Chicago. 
With the help of the enthusiastic and experienced faculty and technicians, I spent the semester understanding the work flow and nuances of designing with Laser machines, 3D printing and CNC mills.&#38;nbsp;
Using various software and hardwares such as Rhinoceros, Meshmixer and 3D scanners, I created a series of toys that work as analog synthesizers and sound making sculptures.

2018
200227 is a sound installation that examines the comfort in anticipation, rhythm and repetition.
The sculpture projects a chaotic rhythm with the pens and solenoids when viewed from a distance. When the viewer approaches the work, the pens will start to blend and click in synchronization.

the thing upstairs is a work in progress. An experiment of capturing the moment of anticipation through sound. For each interval the marble is released into the track, the playback in the space stops and records the sounds in the environment which is then played back as an infinite loop until the next iteration generated by the next marble drop.
